Krav Maga

Krav Maga or (Contact Combat) is the official defensive tactics system of the Israeli Defense Forces. It is considered to be one of the most practical systems of self-defense in the world emphasizing defenses against real attacks.

Krav Maga is simple, aggressive and easy to learn making it the fastest growing form of self-defense in the United States. Krav Maga’s Force Training Division trains over 500 Law Enforcement agencies, Military units throughout the world, and SWAT teams.

Unlike most martial arts that are formal, ritual-oriented, and difficult to learn, Krav Mag is based on instinctual fight or flight  movements and on natural reflexes.  There is only one rule in Krav Maga: use everything you’ve got – because there are no rules on the street!  Krav Maga’s emphasis is on simple movements, allowing people of all ages and fitness levels to learn real self-defense quickly and easily.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is primarily a ground fighting self-defense system.
Many people for the first time realized that more groundwork was needed for today’s world when Royce Gracie set the martial arts world up side down when he won multiple UFC titles in the 1990’s over bigger, stronger traditional martial artists.  Carlos Gracie was one of the first people to learn Ju-jitsu from Esai Maeda or as he is mostly known Count Koma.  Carlos, the oldest brother then taught ju-jitsu to his brothers.  Helio the youngest brother who was small and sickly learned mostly at the side of the mat.  He then modified ju-jitu now called Brazillian Ju-Jitsu or BJJ for the person who is smaller and not as strong by developing the Guard position.  And now the rest is history.  BJJ is learned by thousands through the world.  Realistically to be able to protect yourself in a real assault situation where 90% of assaults and fights go to the ground – you must know the BJJ.  While most BJJ schools focus on the Sport aspect of BJJ, we at Krav Maga RC focus on the practical – street and real life situations aspects of BJJ.  We thank at Krav Maga RC thank Carlos Gracie Sr. and Helio Gracie or all that they have done for BJJ.
